1. How long can I wear Frequency contacts?
These Frequency contact lenses are EW “Extended Wear” which means that you may wear them up to 24 hours a day for up to 6 days before removing them for cleaning. It’s important to discuss your wearing schedule with your optician, as not all patients can tolerate an extended wear schedule.
2. Can I sleep while wearing Frequency contact lenses?
These EW Frequency contact lenses have been FDA approved for overnight use. However, sleeping in contact lenses has been associated with higher risks of irritation, infection, and potentially vision-threatening complications, so you should consult with your eye doctor before wearing your Frequency contacts to bed.
3. How often should I replace Frequency contacts?
Frequency contact lenses are 1 - 2 week disposable lenses, intended to be replaced every 7 to 14 days. Exactly how long you can go between replacements will depend on your usage. On a daily wear schedule, removing and cleaning the lenses every night before bed, you may be able to wear them for up to 14 days. Wearing these lenses for longer than the recommended period can put you at risk for discomfort and infection, so be sure to follow your eye doctor’s instructions.
4. How can I clean my Frequency contact lenses?
Wash your hands and remove your Frequency contact lens. Using a small amount of your chosen solution, gently rub the lens with your finger. Rinse well and store in fresh solution. Taking the time to properly clean your Frequency contact lenses will ensure that they stay comfortable and perform at their best.
