Most people find that they wear their contacts between 12 - 14 hours a day. If your optician has approved you for overnight wear, then you can wear your Aqualite 38 contacts 24 hours a day for up to 6 days. Talk to your eye doctor about the optimal wearing schedule for you needs.
2 Can I sleep while wearing my Aqualite 38 contacts?
For optimal eye health, sleeping in contact lenses is not generally recommended. Overnight contact usage has associated with certain complications and can put your long-term eye health at risk. However, Aqualite 38 contacts have been approved by the FBA for overnight (“extended”) wear, meaning that in some cases, under the instruction and supervision of an optician, Biomedics 38 contact lenses may be worn for up to 6 consecutive nights, followed by at least 1 night with the lenses out.
3 How often should I replace Aqualite 38 contacts?
Aqualite 38 contact lenses are disposable 1-2 week lenses. They are meant to be worn for daily wear for up to 14 days before you need to replace them. Exactly how long you can wear your Aqualite 38 contacts will depend on your personal usage schedule. If you don’t wear your contacts every day, you might not need to replace them on the 14th day. If you are on an extended wear schedule and sleep while wearing your contacts, you may need to replace them on the 7th day. Your eye-care professional can advise you on the best replacement schedule for your usage.
4 How often should I clean Aqualite 38 contact lenses?
If you are not sleeping in your Aqualite 38 contacts, we recommend that you clean and disinfect them each night after you take them out, to prevent dryness and ward off potential infections. Carefully cleaning your Aqualite 38 contacts will prevent protein built up and keep your lenses comfortable and working to their highest potential.
